The Life Flight medical team is composed of highly skilled Paramedics and Registered Nurses from across the United States. Practitioners come to Life Flight with a minimum of 5 years of critical care or EMS experience. All crew members hold current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and Trauma care, as well as multiple instructor certifications. The Paramedic/Nurse medical crew configuration is utilized by Life Flight to provide the highest level of full spectrum patient care.

Life Flight Paramedics are highly trained EMS care providers with extensive prehospital experience. Flight Paramedics receive a thorough orientation period, followed by critical care education and credentialing. Once this is completed they are required to take the CCEMT-P and FP-C exams. As of January 2008 all full time Life Flight Paramedics hold dual CCEMT-P and FP-C certifications.

Life Flight Nurses are highly trained critical care medicine providers with extensive tertiary level hospital experience. Flight Nurses also receive a thorough orientation period, followed by trauma care education and credentialing. Once this is completed they are required to take the CFRN exam. As of May 2008 all full time Life Flight Nurses hold dual Florida Paramedic and CFRN certifications.
